Upgrading to Subversion 1.5.* on a Debian Box

# apt-get clean
Edit the following configuration file /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/70debconf
Add the following line to the configuration file:

APT::Cache-Limit "16777216";

Save and Exit
Edit the following configuration file /etc/apt/sources.list
Add the following two lines:

deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ sid main
deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ sid main

Save and Exit
# apt-get update
# apt-get install subversion
